Sam Sodje Promises New Board Of Delta State Sports Commission Will Make A Difference

The in-coming Board of the Delta State Sports Commission has promised to revolutionize sports to the level it will contribute significantly to the actualization of the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration.

A member designate of the Commission, Sam Sodje, made the promise while speaking to newsmen shortly after the screening of the four nominees for appointment to the Board by the Delta State House of Assembly.

Sam Sodje, an international footballer, said sports had lots of opportunities for the younger generation and the in-coming Board would explore ways such opportunities could benefit the bodden talents in the state, especially at the grassroots.

He maintained that the four designates were system’s personalities who would bring their wealth of experience to bear in the development of sports in the state, pointing out that the Board, after inauguration, would develop a work plan that would guide it in achieving set goals.

The ex-Super Eagles centre back defence player spoke on the need to develop the game of football beyond its present stage, insisting that Delta should have a formidable Football Club in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

Sam Sodje thanked the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for nominating Onoriode Oborevwori as Chairman of the Commission, assuring him that he and other members of the Board would put in their best to justify their appointment.

He also thanked the State Assembly for confirming their appointment after they were screened and urged Deltans to continue to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to succeed in advancing the state with the MORE agenda of his administration.
