The leadership and members of Traders Association of Nigeria, Delta State chapter, have extended warm felicitations to the 14th Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, on the historic presentation of Staff of Office to him by the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Association, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Chief Uju Udeme, noted that Asagba Prof Azinge’s ascension to the throne was divine given the peaceful and transparent process that culminated to his emergence.
It stated that the general acceptance of the revered traditional ruler was a testament to his strong character, intellectual capacity, global exposure and connections, all of which would make his reign beneficial to Asaba and its people.
The traders association placed on record the peaceful environment its members are enjoying in Asaba, which has made the area a place to be for non indigenes, most of whom have raised families and are doing well in business.
The Uju Udeme-led group expressed delight with the progress Asaba has made over time, and the hospitable nature of the people, pledging to cooperate with and support the Asagba to further transform the custom and traditions of the community and attract more development to his kingdom.
The traders promised to continue to contribute to the growth of the local economy and to remain peaceful and law abiding in their conduct.
They prayed God to grant the king good health, long life and the wisdom to rule his people and urged indigenes and non indigene alike to avoid acts that could lead to a breach of peace in Asaba
