The Delta State Waste Management Board (DSWMB) has reiterated its determination to make all approved dumpsites across the state easily accessible to waste disposal trucks. 

The Executive Chairman of the Board, Hon Matthew Mofe Edema, made this known while speaking on the continued maintenance of the Ibusa dumpsite servicing over 30 PSPs within the State Capital Territory.

Hon Edema said the pushing of the dumpsite to create enough space for the users, which was supervised by the member representing Delta North on the Board, Hon Cosmas Igbenije, would be a continuous exercise so as to maximize the use of the facility.

He pointed out that the Agbor dumpsite was also recently maintained to keep it in form to serve its purpose and commended Hon Igbenije for his passion for proper waste management in his area of jurisdiction.

The Board Chairman explained that necessary steps were being taken to ease the work of the waste managers, otherwise known as Private Sector Participants (PSPs) and urged them to be more efficient with their operations to reduce complaints by their clients. 

Hon Edema said the Board was not relenting in the daily evacuation of waste from strategic road shoulders and median kerbs, as well as illegal dumpsites within the State Capital Territory, targeted at ensuring a garbage-free environment.

He revealed that operation show your PSP receipt sensitization programme was ongoing in Asaba and the environs and urged residents who had yet to key into the model to do so before the commencement of enforcement.
