The City of London Magistrates’ Court has ordered the release of $1,199,965, frozen in an account belonging to one Mr. Keith Davies, to Senator Prince Ned Nwoko,, representing the Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate.
The money, originally transferred by Ned Nwoko to a middleman named Abubakar, was subsequently transferred to Davies, who held himself out as a broker, only for the funds to be frozen by authorities pending the resolution of the ownership dispute.
Following the Court proceedings, the Judge ruled that the funds should be returned to Ned Nwoko, acknowledging him as the rightful owner.
HSBC has been ordered to release the money to Nwoko’s legal representatives within seven days.
