A member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North Local Government Area and one-time Chairman, State Taskforce on Environment, Mr Kingsley Iweka Odiaka, has returned all the glory to God for the success of his marriage in the past 20 years.

Mr Odiaka, a former Assistant Manager, Marketing, in NEPA before it was unbundled, also placed on record the roles played in his political career by some political leaders in the state which contributed to his success in life and by extension his marriage.

The former Special Assistant on Political Matters to immediate past Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, recalled that he joined politic in 2013, nine years into his marriage, to the warm embrace of Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Barr John Nani, Chief Festus Ochonogor, Hon Emma Bazim Chinye and Chief Godspower Asiuwhu, who at different times impacted positively on his life.

He paid special tribute to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for giving him the opportunity to be part of his administration which unarguably left the state better than it met it, with landmark infrastructure and robust human capital development to show.

The PDP chieftain expressed delight that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was already consolidating the accomplishments of his predecessor with the MORE agenda of his administration and urged Deltans to continue to support him.

On his marriage of 20 years and still counting to his hearthrob, Helen, of Urhobo extraction, Mr Odiaka said God’s guidance, understanding, respect for and tolerance of each other had been the magic wands that kept the union going.

He admitted that the past two decades of the marriage were not without challenges, stressing that no marriage could be assumed to be perfect.

Mr Odiaka commended his wife for being there for him and their lovely children all these years and for all the support and prayers, which were instrumental in the progress so far made and promised to remain a good husband to his wife and a caring father to his children.

The grassroots politician advised intending couples to  be open to each other from the start and never attempt to shift the “goalpost” in the middle of the game, insisting that there should be no presence nor false love in marriage.
