The traditional ruler of Aboh Kingdom, Obi, Dr Greg Oputa 111 has described as heartwarming Monday’s approval of his emergence as the 20th Obi of Aboh kingdom by the Delta State Executive Council.
Obi, Dr Greg Oputa 111, while reacting to the development, commended the State Exco whose meeting was presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the approval.
The Aboh monarch said the approval of his emergence as the king of Aboh by the Delta State Government was not only a mark of recognition, but a re-affirmation of the implicit confidence reposed in him by the entire peace loving people of Aboh kingdom which he vowed not to take for granted.

He specifically expressed immense gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme for graciously granting the approval, saying that it was not only timely but also a strong indication that his reign would usher in an unprecedented peace, growth and development in the kingdom.
The Obi particularly described government’s approval of his kingship as a great honour and urged the people to reciprocate government’s kind gesture by rallying round him for the socioeconomic and infrastructural development of the kingdom.
While reflecting on the premier position of Aboh Kingdom as a foremost coastal community that had early encounter with the Europeans as exemplified by the Lander brothers voyage in the kingdom, Obi, Dr Greg Oputa 111 said the kingdom was in a haste to catch up with the ongoing pace of development across the state.

He therefore urged the people to close ranks and put necessary machinery in motion for the overall transformation of the kingdom .
The traditional ruler pledged the total loyalty of the kingdom to the State Government and admonished the people to continue to support government’s policies and programmes .
He called for unity and cooperation of the people in moving the kingdom forward, adding that they should always endeavor to speak with one voice on matters of common interest to them.
