The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Samuel Mariere, has urged the team representing Delta State in the finals of the Basic Education Sport holding at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, to be of good behavior, stay focused, and make the state proud.
Hon. Mariere expressed optimism that the team would win given the thorough training and logistical preparations that had been put in place, and the commitment of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to taking education to the next level in Delta State.
He emphasized the state’s commitment to developing sports from the grassroots level, stating that Delta State would had always been known for winning in sports and would continue to catch talents young.
According to him, “the state’s vision for education is to provide unfettered access to basic education for all children, ensuring they receive a qualitative, functional, and free education that equips them for purposeful living. “With this mission in mind, the team is poised to make a strong impression at the national finals”.
The SUBEB Executive Chairman wished the team the best of luck.
Ogoma Primary School, Ogwashi-Uku emerged victorious at the state level and will be playing against 28 other schools from across the country.
The departure of the team and officials was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary of the Board, Sir Bryon Unini, the Director, Academic Services, Mrs Francisca Okpeh, among others
