The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, Saturday, joined other bereaved Deltans to mourn the demise of a former Deputy Governor of the state, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama.
Rt Hon Guwor said the passing of Prof Utuama had left a void in his heart and many others, particularly the government of Delta State and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP family in the state.
The Speaker, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, condoled the member representing Ughelli South in the State Legislature, Hon Festus Utuama, the immediate family of late Prof Utuama, the Ughievwen kingdom, the Ughelli South local government and people of the LGA for the loss of the former Deputy Governor who died at the age of 77.
Guwor pointed out that as a former Deputy Governor, Prof Utuama demonstrated unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Delta State, stressing that his legacy, marked by dedication and wisdom, woukd forever inspire many people, particularly in the legal profession and political arena..
The Speaker recalled the tireless efforts of the late Professor of Law at promoting socio-economic development in Delta State between 2007 and 2015, when he served as Deputy Governor to Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
While stressing that Prof Utuama’s impact on Delta state’s history was undeniable, Rt Hon Guwor extended his deepest sympathies to the family and charged them to find strength in the remarkable life and service of their late father.
The Speaker on behalf of the constituents of Warri South West and the Delta State House of Assembly prayed God to grant the soul of the late former Deputy Governor eternal rest.
