A combined team of the Environmental Sanitation Task Force for Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), led by Elder Isaac Itobi, and officers of the Environment Department of Uvwie Local Government, has paid unscheduled inspection visits to residential and business premises at DDPA Estate, Ugborikoko Effurun.

The Mobile Court established by the State Chief Judge, led by a Magistrate, was on ground to prosecute anyone who breached sanitation laws.
The team condemned the nonchalant attitude of residents to the environment, and urged the people to clean and maintain their surroundings on a regular basis for a healthy living.

Before enforcement, the Agency and the Environment Task Force had served the residents abatement notices to officially register with the Private Sector Participants for the evacuation of their waste in line with providers and comply with global environmental sanitation standards.
Violators were prosecuted by the Mobile Court for various offences such as refusal to register with a PSP; failure to maintain collapsed or filled suck away facilities; and noncompliance with environmental laws and regulations.

Other offenders were ordered by the Mobile Court to report themselves at the Magistrate Court, Effurun, to face the consequences of their disobedience, and for attempting to molest the Magistrate of the Mobile Court on duty.
The unscheduled inspection visits by the combined team of the Environmental Task Force and the Mobile Court to private and corporate premises in WUEDA’s mandate areas, continues.
