Guwor Appreciates The Pointer Publishers For Excellence In Public Service Award

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has expressed appreciation to the Board, management and staff of The Pointer newspaper publishers for the “Excellence in Public Service” award bestowed on him as part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the state owned media outfit.

Rt Hon Guwor, who attended the grand ceremony,  described the award as a tremendous honour to him, his  Constituents and the State Legislature.

The Speaker, who is the National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, said he was deeply humbled and grateful for the honour and recognition.

He noted that the award was not just a testament to commitment to public service but also a reflection of the tireless efforts of his colleagues and the entire Delta State House of Assembly team.

Rt Hon Guwor reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people of Delta State and the nation at large, and promised to always acknowledge and recognize the team effort behind any achievement made as a public servant.

He said, “This Certificate of Excellence serves as a motivation to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of the society. 

“I dedicate the award to my constituents and the Delta State House of Assembly that entrusted me with the privilege of serving as Speaker in the State Legislature.

Again, I thank the Delta Printing and Publishing Company for the esteemed honour”.

On the 30th Anniversary of the newspaper, the Speaker congratulated the Board, Management and Staff for the remarkable milestone of dedicated service and unwavering commitment to balanced reportage and agenda-setting.

He said The Pointer newspaper had consistently demonstrated excellence in information dissemination, investigative reporting, and community engagement.

Rt Hon Guwor encouraged the newspaper oublishers to remain focused on shaping public discourse geared towards strengthening peace, unity, development and good governance in Delta State.

The Speaker again reaffirmed his support for responsible journalism that would promote the integrity of the profession and growth of the nation’s democracy.

“May this milestone mark the beginning of another era of journalistic excellence, innovation, and impact. I wish every member of staff of the DPPCL continued success, growth, and relevance in the years to come”, Guwor stated..
