DELTA STATE WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD ASSURES IMPROVED PERFORMANCE IN 2025

The Delta State Waste Management Board (DSWMB) has pledged to drive its mandate of effectively managing waste in the state with greater vigour in the 2025 fiscal year.

The Executive Chairman of the Board, Hon Mathew Mofe Edema, made the pledge in an interview with Journalists shortly after the Board’s successful defense of its 2025 proposed budget at the State Ministry of Economic Planning’s Inter-Ministerial Budget Defense Session on Tuesday .

Hon Edema said though the Board made reasonable progress in its operations in the current fiscal year, there was still room for improvement, which would be diligently explored 

He disclosed that in the 2025 fiscal year the Board would be focusing on acquiring new dumpsites, expanding and fencing some of the existing ones, acquiring new heavy duty equipments and trucks for its operations and embarking on more sensitization programmes aimed at getting more people to key into the PSP model.

The Board Chairman commended the state government for its support and promised that the establishment would remain committed to ensuring the success of the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration in the area of Realistic Reforms.

Hon Edema explained that the Board’s proposed expenditure and revenue projection for next year were tailored to consolidating the successes already achieved, breaking new grounds and adding more value to the system.

The Executive Chairman was accompanied by the member representing Delta Central, Hon. Felix Erimedafe, member representing Delta North, Hon. Cosmas Igbenije, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Steve Idogu, the Director of Operations, Mr. Michael Esegba, Director of Legal Services and Compliance, Barr. (Mrs) Nkankan L. Aforke-Iteheri, Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr Benson Ogbogbo among other management staff of the Board.
