The President General of the Ibusa Youth Association, Comrade Ifeanyi Asiodu, has urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and the police authorities to call an Influential son of the community spearheading land grabbing to order.
Comrade Asiodu, who holds the little of Alum of Ibusa, cried out for help while speaking to Journalists in Asaba, describing the situation as highly worrisome unacceptable.
The youth leader said Ibusa had always been a peaceful town until 2022 when the said individual, whose name he did not mention for obvious reasons, recruited some idle youths to forcefully move into people’s land, destroy existing structure and resell to ready buyers, claiming to have the Power of Attorney.
He said not even genuine documents issued by heads of the villages where lands were bought nor Court Orders could stop the bulldozers from rolling into any targeted property,, disclosing that the person concerned, who is well known to the police, had consistently boasted that not even Nigeria’s President nor the Inspector General of Police could stop him.
Comrade Asiodu, however, commended the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Olufemi Abaniwonda, for daring the man in question, which had led to a reduction in the nefarious activities of his team, urging the CP to do more.
The Ibusa Youth PG accused the Taskforce set up by the Oshimili North Local Government to check land grabbing of non-performance, pointing out that though he personally assisted the Taskforce with a Sienna bus for ease of operations, only for them to allegedly be giving cover to the land grabbers.
On the state of the nation, Comrade Asiodu regretted the untold hardship and excruciating hunger in the land and called on President Bola Tinubu to bring down the price of fuel, fix federal roads across the country, guarantee safety of life and property, as well as regular supply of electricity in order to give Nigerians cause to be happy.
The youth leader took a swipe at the political class for recycling themselves from one office to another, without giving room to the younger ones to contribute to the system, and advocate a legislation to check the trend in the interest of the nation.
