The Adim Onochie-led executive of PDP ward 5, Oshimili South Local Government Area, has honoured the ward leader, Hon Taju Isichei, with an award of excellence in leadership skills and team work.
The award was presented to him on Sunday during the monthly meeting of the ward by the immediate past Chairman of the PDP in Oshimili South, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, on behalf of the ward Chairman, Ogbueshi John Adim Onochie.
Hon Isichei, popularly called IKUKU, who is an Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, was found deserving of the award for bringing about innovations in the affairs of the ward since he became the leader.
He was applauded for his selflessness, concern for the pains and challenges of others, especially the economically weak and vulnerable members of the ward and for his belief in giving opportunity to the youth of the ward to grow politically.
The ward urged the awardee to continue with his good works, stressing that he should not listen to or work with gossips from those whose interest was to divide the ward for their selfish interests.
Responding after receiving the award, highly elated IKUKU said it came to him as a surprise because it was not on the agenda of the meeting, and thanked the executive and the entire members of the ward for the great honour done him.
Hon Isichei explained that his actions as the ward leader were strictly being guided by equity, fairness and justice, adding the selflessness was in his character and would continue to play out in his stewardship wherever he found himself.
He promised to make the ward better than he met it and appealed to members to remain loyal to the party and united in purpose to be able to benefit from the system.
