EZENYILI SWEARS IN SUPERVISORY COUNCILLORS, EMPHASIZES SELFLESS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE

The Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government, Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, on Tuesday, swore-in five Supervisory Councillors in a bid to strengthen the Executive arm of the Council.

In his remarks on the occasion, Dr. Ezenyili said the appointees were chosen on merit, adding that the were products of inclusiveness, as against selfish interest, in the selection process, as was the case in the past.

The Council Chairman dwelt on the uniqueness of the event, which witnessed the coming on board of a non indigene, saying that it was the first time in the history of the Local Government that a non indigene, of the Igbo extraction, would be serving as a Supervisory Councillor.

He reminded the Councillors that their appointment was a call to service, which should not be taken for granted, emphasizing that they should strive to justify the confidence reposed in them and work hard to implement the manifesto of the ruling party, contribute to the success of the Council and dedicatedly serve the people of Oshimili South.

Dr. Ezenyili charged the appointees to deploy their youthful energy and ideas for the good of all, adding that they should always seek the wise counsel and tap from the wealth of experience of the leaders in the discharge of their duties.

Some party leaders who spoke at the event,including a former Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye; Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, Hon Taju Isichei and Ogbueshi Tobechukwu Okonkwo, congratulated the Supervisory Councillors on their appointment and urged them to align with the vision of the Council Chairman and by extension the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration.

The highlight of the occasion was the administration of the oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy on the Councillors by Dr. Ezenyili, who also announced portfolios for the appointees 

Bolokwu Stanley is the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Community Development, Dikedi Adim, Councillor for Environment and Youth Development; Oluchukwu Ijeoma, Councillor for Education and Women Development; Agunwa Kingsley, Councillor for Special Duties, while Onukwu Anthony is Councillor for Works.
