The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, in the National Assembly, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah, is dead.
The Lawmaker, who flew to the United Kingdom two days ago on account of ill health, reportedly died Saturday morning in a London hospital.
The cause of death is, however, not clear as at the time of filing this report..
Ubah, a renowned philanthropist and Chairman/CEO of Capital Oil, which he founded at the age 25, was elected Senator in 2019 on the platform of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, and reelected on that platform in 2023.
He defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, early this year and had indicated interest in running for the governorship of Anambra State in next year’s election.
Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and came fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
