Delta State Stakeholders (MDAs) on Environmental Sanitation Matters, in line with the declaration of the Ministry of Environment on statewide sanitation exercise on Saturday, have declared a complete lockdown of the Capital Territory from 7am to 10am for the exercise.

According to the Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Chief Patrick Ukah, there would be a total restriction of vehicular and pedestrian movements in the territory.

Residents are expected to cut overgrown weeds around their premises, clear the drainage channels in front of their houses and keep their environment clean.

Waste disposal vehicles would move round the affected areas to collect the resultant refuse and dispose of them at the dumpsite.

Seven Mobile Courts will sit in different locations to try defaulters.

Only those on essential services are exempted from this restriction order.
