The 25 Chairmanship candidates elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Saturday’s Local Government election in the state have been presented with their certificates of return.
The presentation took place at the headquarters of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) in Asaba.
The Chairmen-elect include Emmanuel Bazim Chinye (Aniocha North) Jude Chukwunwike (Aniocha South) Dagidi Andaye (Bomadi) Julius Takeme (Burutu) Augustine Ogedegbe (Ethiope East) Christian Onogba (Ethiope West) Monday Odinigwe (lka North East) Jerry Ehiwarior (Ika South) Prince Godwin Ogorugba (Isoko North) Warri Ovoke Friday (Isoko South) Vincent Osilonya (Ndokwa East) Godday Obi Nzete (Ndokwa West) Isaiah Esiovwa (Okpe) Innocent Esewezie (Oshimili North) and Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, (Oshimili South).
Others are, Isaac Aguanah (Patani) Bright Abeke, (Sapele) Vincent Oyibode (Udu) Jaro Egbo, (Ughelli North) Lucky Avweromre (Ughelli South) Possible Ajede (Ukwuani) Anthony Ofoni (Uvwie) Festus Ashima (Warri North) Weyinmi Agbateyiniro (Warri South) and Sylvester Oromoni (Warri South West).
In separate interviews with Journalists after receiving their certificates, Emma Bazim Chinye, Chris Onogba and Godday Obi Nzete, described the event as the beginning of a new dawn of transformational Council administration in their respective local government areas.
They thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the conduct of the Council elections barely four months after the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past Council Chairmen, describing the development as an indication of the Governor’s respect for the rule of law.
The Chairmen-elect are to be sworn-in tomorrow, July 15, 2024, by the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’.
