The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the July 13 Council polls in the 24 Local Government Areas where elections were conducted n Delta State.
The results of the election were announced on Sunday in Asaba at the headquarters of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC).
Addressing newsmen after the declaration of the results by the LGA Returning Officers, DSIEC Chairman, Dr. Jerry Agbaike, said PDP won in 499 electoral wards, while the Allied People’s Movement (APM) won in one ward in Akwukwu-Igbo, Oshimili North local government area.
It will be recalled that the PDP Chairmanship candidate in Udu local government area, Chief Vincent Oyibode, was returned unopposed, after the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stepped down for him.
