Delta State Government has presented palliatives, comprising several bags of maize and garri, to the Yoruba, Arewa and Muslim communities in the stateĀ

Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Hausa/Fulani Affairs, Alhaji Usman Muktar, who disclosed this while receiving the palliatives, said each of the communities would be well represented in the sharing of both items.

Alhaji Muktar said the items  would be shared to the beneficiaries across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state, emphasizing that the gesture was not political, as Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori had always maintained that he was the Governor of all Deltans and other residents of the state

He explained that the maize and garri would be distributed through the Sarkis in all the local government areas of the state and commended the Governor for carrying the Yoruba and Arewa communities in the state along in his policies and programmes.

Alhaji Muktar urged the Hausa and Fulani communities in the state to remain law abiding citizens and supportive of the Oborevwori administration, stressing the need for them to always pray for the Governor and other leaders at the state and national levels.

The SSA said the distribution of the items would commence tomorrow.
