A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oshimili South Local Government Area, Hon Taju Isichei, has joined in the celebration of the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as he marks his 65th birth anniversary.
Hon Isichei, an Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development, in a message made available to the press, noted that the former Governor had carved a niche for himself as a selfless servant-leader, whose political life had impacted positively on many.
He said Okowa had contributed greatly to the growth and unity of PDP at the state and national levels, having excelled in the various roles assigned to him and ensuring internal democracy in the state chapter of the party.
Hon Isichei, popularly called IKUKU, stated that the former Governor also made significant impacts in the Ministries of Agriculture, Water Resources Development, and Health where he served as Commissioner, just as he brought his wealth of experience and technocratic prowess to bear in the Office of the SSG when he was the helmsman of the Office.
The EA added that as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Okowa was always be remembered for his contributions to the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which had been domesticated in Delta and making waves in the health sector of the state.
He paid tribute to the former Governor for the massive road development and other key legacy projects in Asaba, including the magnificent Prof Chike Edozien Secretariat Complex and the Koka junction flyover/Interchange, which had made Asaba one of the fastest growing state capitals in Nigeria
Hon Isichei prayed for good health, more wisdom, long life and peace of mind for Okowa and wished him many happy returns of his birthday celebration.
