The transformational initiative The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Audi, has been commended for his transformational initiatives in the security outfit.
The Niger Delta Advocacy For Good Governance (NDAGG), a Non-Governmental Organization, gave the commendation in a statement signed by its Chairman, Mr Festus Adeoye and Secretary, and Tobi Ohilebo and made available to newsmen in Warri.
The group noted that the transformational drive of C. G. Audi, who has performed extremely well as the 3rd substantive NSCDC Commandant Genenral had improved productivity in the security outfit.
The group said the NSCDC boss had written his name on a marble by embarking on numerous developmental initiatives since he assumed duty as Commandant General.
According to the group, C. G. Audi’s determination to do the extraordinary, had impacted positively on the Corps and the security outfit through his various programmes.
NDAGG pointed out some of the Commandant General’s achievement to include the construction of official and residential buildings within and outside the NSCDC Headquarters;
procurement of operational and office equipment’; destruction of over 350 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region.
The group added, his other achievements are the “introduction of career progression courses for personnel of the NSCDC; increase in the welfare packages of Corps’ personnel; massive acquisition of arms for NSCDC operational use, creation of NSCDC Female Squad to aid in tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities in schools nationwide; creation of the NSCDC Special Mines Marshal to combat the menace of illegal mining in the country’s mining sector.”
The group added, ” C.G. Audi performed well in the arrest and recovery of critical assets and railway materials worth over 5 billion, he initiated the Save the School(STS) innovative program for the protection of vulnerable schools across the country. He created the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad [CG’s SIS] which has made and is still making remarkable impact in the war against illegal bunkering, kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery among others.”
The Commandant General maintained effective collaborations with other Security Agencies; robust staff welfare and motivational packages for personnel of NSCDC through massive promotion, conversion and upgrading as well as provision of staff welfare buses.
The group spoke further, “under C. G. Audi, up the ante by increased arrest and prosecution of vandals in several courts of competent jurisdiction within the country of which the conviction rates are equally the highest in the history of the NSCDC and among others.”
According to the group, “the Corps under him worked assiduously towards the stability of the nation’s economy by the Corps determined fight in Delta State and other States of the Federation to protect National Critical Assets and oil installations in their several arrests of oil thieves in Warri Creeks and other parts of the Niger Delta region.”
“C . G. Audi”s leadership has helped in no small way to put the Corps on a solid pedestal that has changed the narrative of the security outfit.The overall assessment has shown that the NSCDC has grown to become an elite organization of international standard, accolades and garlands of flowers should be poured on and presented to him. We also use this opportunity to call on C. G. Audi to sustain the tempo in doing his best”, the group noted.
