The Oshimili South chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has adopted the immediate past Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, as its consensus aspirant for the July 13 Council polls.
The position of the party was made known on Wednesday in Asaba by its LGA Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, at an enlarged meeting of leaders, elders and members of the party.
Ogbueshi Okonji said the party was satisfied with the performance of the former Council Chairman and had no reservation adopting him as its sole aspirant for the primary election scheduled to hold on or before May 25, 2024..
While explaining that Dr Kelvin Ezenyili:s candidacy would be ratified at the LGA’s Chairmanship primary election of the party, Dada Okonji urged other contenders to close ranks and work for him to avoid a divided house.
He also called on the various wards of the party in Oshimili South to mobilize support for Dr Ezenyili, while ensuring that only the best, including three females per ward as directed by the Governor, emerged as Councillorship candidates.
