DELTA NORTH WOMEN HAIL NED NWOKO FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE AT THE SENATE

Senator Ned Nwoko  representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has  received massive commendation 

from Anioma women for his excellent and outstanding achievements at the Senate.

The Anioma women, numbering thousands and drawn from the nine local government areas of Delta North, gave the commendation at the Idumuje Ugboko country home of Senator Ned Nwoko,bl in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.

The women paid glowing tributes to Prince Ned Nwoko for promoting their welfare and the general interests of Anioma people and Nigerians since he became a Senator.

They noted that his numerous bills and motions at the Senate were far-reaching and people-centred, while acknowledging his efforts on strategic projects like the Ogwashi-Uku dam and Okpai power project, aimed at attracting socio-economic development.

The women, in a unanimous acclamation, passed a vote of confidence in Senator Ned Nwoko and urged him to remain an exemplary ambassador of Anioma and Delta State.

Responding, highly elated Senator Ned Nwoko thanked the women for their overwhelming support and pledged his resolve to do more.

The senator revealed that a comprehensive empowerment programme was underway for the people of Delta North, including the women.

Senator Nwoko enjoined them to remain united to enable them benefit maximally from his social welfare packages.

He assured  that the Federal Government would formally hand over the Ogwashi-Uku dam to the Delta State Government next month to kickstart the process of reactivation and distribution of water to communities across Delta North.

He said the Minister of Water Resources was expected to meet with officials of the state government for the formal presentation ceremony.

Nwoko noted that the dam project was of great importance to him as it would solve the perennial water supply problems experienced over the years by the rural dwellers and also boost agricultural activities in the land.

He further stated that he was fulfilled that the dam had been built, waiting to be energized.

He said: “I understand what it takes to be a Senator. I prepared for the job and I understand my obligations to the people of Anioma.

“My first project is water, therefore, I have met the Minister of Water Resources over the Ogwashi-Uku dam and Federal Government says the dam will be handed over to the state.

“By next month, the Minister will be coming to Delta State to handover the dam to the state and the state will onward connect the water to every house in Delta North.

“After water project, my next concern is electricity and I have met the Minister of Power over the Okpai power plant and he promised to include the project in the next budget.”
