OSHIMILI SOUTH PDP WARD 5 REUNITES WITH RETURNEES

PDP Ward 5, in Oshimili South Local Government Area, on Sunday, at its monthly meeting, welcomed back some of its members who stepped aside ahead of the 2023 general election.

They are Hon Gabriel Mordi, Ogbueshi Nnamdi Onyemenam, Sir Michael Obieke, Emeka Chidi, Chukwudi Godwin, Hon Charles Nwamu, Ogbueshi Ibe Osiamgbi, Nmadu Okonkwo, and Amaka Okafor.

In their separate remarks, the returnees said they were happy to be back to where they actually belonged, describing their stepping aside as injurious to the party.

They, however, expressed delight that PDP remained strong in the ward and thanked the leadership of the party at the ward and LGA levels for firmly holding forth while they were away.

Speaking further in an interview with newsmen, Hon Gabriel Mordi said he was inspired to return by the brilliant performance of the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, thus far and would want to be associated with the success story of his administration.

Hon Mordi pledged to respect the supremacy of the party and to contribute to its growth, assuring that the mistake of the 2023 election in Oshimili South Ward 5, especially as it concerned the Presidential and National Assembly polls, would not repeat itself.

Receiving the returnees, the Oshimili South LGA Chairman of PDP, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, thanked them for coming back to their root and urged them never to deviate again so as not to lose out of the numerous benefits lined up for loyal party members.

Ogbueshi Okonji, who was accompanied to the meeting by some state leaders of the party in Oshimili South, including Chief Edwin Uzor, Hon Bridget Anyafulu, Hon Peter Onwusanya, as well as the immediate past Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, reminded party faithful that the Council election was being expected and they should be prepared for it.

Chairman of the ward, Ogbueshi Chinedu Nwokolo, who took a roll call of all the cells in the ward to ascertain the inclusiveness of attendance, said the ward would remain consistent with the monthly meeting and called on members to be focused on improving the electoral fortunes of PDP in the ward.

Also speaking, the leader of the ward and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, Hon Taju Isichei, popularly called IKUKU, thanked the LGA PDP Chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji and other party leaders for attending the meeting and assured them that the ward would continue to deliver the party in all elections.
