BREAKING: Delta Traditional Ruler Turns In Self Over Alleged Link To Okuama Killing Of 17 Army Personnel

The Ovie of Ewu – Urhobo, in Ughelli South Local Government Área, HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, Urhukpe 1, has been has turned himself in to the Police in Delta and flown to the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, for interrogation on his alleged involvement in the gruesome killing of 17 Army personnel in Okuama community on March 14, 2024.

The traditional ruler, who is one of the 8 suspects declared wanted on Thursday by the Defence Headquarters in connection with the Okuama killings, reportedly surrendered himself to the Delta State Police Command, Asaba, and was received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi.

The Military authorities were subsequently notified following which the monarch was flown to Abuja Friday morning . 

The suspect was escorted to the Asaba Airport by the Commanding Officer, 63 Brigade, Nigeria Army, Asaba, the Commissioner of Police and some senior Military officers. 

The Ewu – Urhobo monarch, accompanied by a combined team of Military officers and the Police, as well as his personal aides, later boarded an Air Peace airline, which  departed the Airport for Abuja about 9:10 am                                  

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the report, said the suspect had been handed over to the Military authorities for further investigations.
