The Director of Publicity, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta state, Dr Wilson Omene, has described the victory of Hon Blessing Achoja in the February 3 State Assembly re-run election in Ethiope West Constituency as the popular will of the people and not a fluke.
Dr Omene, in an interview with newsmen shortly after the swearing in of Achoja as a member of the State House of Assembly by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, added that his victory was ordained by God, having earlier won the election, which was upturned by the Court of Appeal, and repeated the feat in the re-run election.
He said Achoja was unarguably the choice of the people of Ethiope West, adding that the era of giving the youth opportunities in leadership had come and Achoja rightly fitted into the vacant State Assembly position.
The APC chieftain noted that while some youths had taken to drugs and cyber crime, Achoja was focused and determined to lead a responsible life and be of service to the state and humanity, expressing delight that his dream came true.
Dr Omene advised the Lawmaker to strive to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of Ethiope West by giving them a robust representation and urged the leadership of the State Assembly to carry the minority along to ensure cohesion.
