A leading political pressure group in the state, Deltans Life Matters ( DLM) has commended the Judiciary for helping to strengthen democracy in the country.

In a statement in Asaba, the Deputy Coordinator of the Christian Moses Abeh-led group, Comrade Mamuzo Gabriel, said the January 19, 2024 Supreme Court ruling in favour of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was a plus for democracy as anything to the contrary would have been detrimental to democratic principles.

Comrade Mamuzo affirmed that the Judiciary remained the last hope for the common man and urged those seeking to subvert the will of the people through the Courts to have a rethink in the interest of peace.

The PDP chieftain noted that Governor Oborevwori was already doing well despite the distractions caused by the numerous litigations targeted at unseating him and expressed optimism that the Governor would do more with the Supreme Court’s final affirmation of his victory.

He thanked God for humbling the Governor’s detractors, whom he advised to join hands with him to move the state forward.

Comrade Mamuzo thanked Oborevwori for the recent nomination of Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza for appointment as Commissioner for Information and for the appointment of Engr Smart Meka as Board Chairman of RDA, as well as a member of the group as Executive Assistant to the Governor on Intelligence Gathering.

DLM Deputy Coordinator expressed appreciation to former Governor of the State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for laying a solid foundation for his anointed successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to further build on
