The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has congratulated the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the Supreme Court judgment affirming him as the duly elected Governor of the state.
Elumelu, in a statement on Friday, January 19, 2024 described the judgement of the Supreme Court, the final Court in the land, as the ultimate triumph of the collective will of the people of Delta State, who voted massively for the Governor in the March 18, 2023 Governorship election in the state.
He commended the Supreme Court for again demonstrating the fact that it remained a beacon of hope for the people and democracy in Nigeria.
“On behalf of my family, I heartily rejoice and congratulate our beloved and indefatigable Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, our great party, the Peoples Democratic (PDP) and indeed, the good people of Delta State.
“I sincerely appreciate the Lord God Almighty for this auspicious day. This Supreme Court victory is no doubt a victory for all of us, a victory for democracy, and a victory for the people of Delta State,” Elumelu stated.
While appreciating the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the people of the state for their support and cooperation with the MORE agenda of the State Governor, Elumelu observed that the giant strides already being made by the Oborevwori administration were further repositioning the state for higher productivity and development.
The former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives called on all stakeholders in the state to join hands with Governor Oborevwori to ensure the overall success of the MORE agenda in the interest of all.
