Over 800 persons in some selected towns and villages in Nigeria benefited from the end of the year humanitarian support services of a Non Governmental Organization, Azuka and Ify Foundation.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the US-based charity organization, Dr Victor Azuka Ubani said the gesture was in line with one of the core mandates of the Foundation, as well as the spirit of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The beneficiaries included orphans, widows, physically challenged and the elderly.

They were gifted with cash and food items, including rice, beans, tubers of yam, onions and tomatoes, among others.

Dr Azuka Ubani and wife, Dr (Mrs) Joy Ifeyinwa Ubani, founder and co-founder of the charity organization, were represented in all the orphanages and centers where the gift items were distributed.

The locations included Obiaruku, Emuhu, Igbodo, and Owa Alizomor in Delta state, and two other communities in Lagos state and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Dr Ubani in his goodwill messages across the centers, acknowledged the challenges faced by the target groups of persons and the need to reach out to them for support in the spirit of the season.

He explained that distribution of cash gifts and food items had become an annual event by the foundation, disclosing that over the years the Non Governmental Organization had in various ways given life lines to the needy.

Dr Ubani, an indigene of Igbodo, in Ika North East local government area of Delta state, South-South Nigeria, appreciated his wife, Dr (Mrs) Joy Ifeyinwa Ubani for her disposition towards reaching out to the vulnerable in the society.

In her words of encouragement, Dr (Mrs) Joy Ifeyinwa Ubani, urged the beneficiaries to look on to God at all times for solutions to any problem, stressing that His grace was sufficient to tackle life challenges.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke expressed profound gratitude to Azuka and Ify Foundation for the cash and food items, even as they asked for more support.

They described the gesture as worthy of emulation, saying that the high level of poverty and serous economic challenges in Nigeria had made survival in the country more tasking.

Those who spoke included Mrs. Ejime Onyenelue, Mrs. Flora Uwakina and Mr. Emmanuel (Obiaruku), Madam Adagbo Rose (Igbodo), Mr. James Ogwu (Emuhu) and Mrs. Iku Nkechi (Owa Alizomor).

They prayed God to richly bless Azuka and Ify Foundation for providing for the less privileged during the festive period.

In all the centers, there were praise and worship, bible readings, ministrations, prayers and dance.
