Members of opposition political parties in Delta state have been urged to support the government in power to succeed for the good of all.

Executive Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Relations, Chief Efe Tobor, made the call at a meeting of Chairmen of registered political parties in Asaba.

Chief Efe Tobor said the elections were over and the Governor, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, was already rolling out his policies and programmes for the people and needed all the support he could get to achieve set goals.

He revealed that so far the Governor had given effect to the promised inclusivity of his administration with the appointment of three former Governorship candidates and five state party Chairmen into various positions, while Christmas gifts had been approved for the political parties.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the state chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, (IPAC), Mr Emeka Bidokwu, said the relationship between the ruling party and other political parties in the state was quite cordial and needed to be sustained.

Mr Bidokwu said though the opposition parties were expected to criticize the ruling party when necessary, that should be done constructively and not in bad faith.

Similarly, the State Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Mr Lucky Okorakpa, thanked the Governor for his Christmas gifts, which he noted had become a tradition in the state.
