As Churches across the country hold their Annual Thanksgiving Services, Christians have been charged to unconditionally serve God and humanity and expect significant turn around in their lives.
The Founder and General Overseer of the Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, Agbor, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, gave the charge on Sunday at the Annual Thanksgiving Services of Wind of Favour Chapel, Ekwuoma, in Ika North East local government area, Divine Glory Arena, Ekuku-Agbor and the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Emuhu, in Ika South local government area.
Prophet Igbodo, who is also the proprietor of Job’s Orphanage and Saint Stephen’s Trust Widows’ Home, both in Agbor, said every Christian owed it a duty to serve God in truth and in spirit for His grace and mercy, pointing out that the greatest miracle of God was going to bed and waking up.
He thanked the Pastorates of the Churches visited for taking care of the members, especially the widows in their midst and for deeming it necessary to set a day aside to appreciate the fullness of God for what He had done for them.
The renowned preacher of the gospel told the congregants that thanksgiving was a lifetime affair and not just once in a year, as the goodness of God knew no bounds and should not be appreciated on any particular occasion.
Prophet Igbodo, while saying that the poor and vulnerable in the society should be shown love and care, noted that it was questionable for any Christian not to have cause to thank God, bearing in mind that no man had a power of his own.
“God is stupendously rich. God is not interested in your wealth and gift. However, He has conditioned you to show kindness to the poor around you. Don’t turn your worshippers to beggars. Poverty is a trap of the devil to destroy the children of God. When people allow salvation to come into their life, Pastors will have less work to do.
“We need to repent. Our lives should convince our children to serve God. People don’t serve God because we are not productive. We should follow God because He is a God of productivity. You will have more friends when God blesses you. You should not struggle for anything in life. A ministry without money can’t move forward. God will pay you when you serve the people”, he said.
While wishing them memorable thanksgiving and harvest celebrations, Prophet Igbodo gave his fatherly blessings.
