The leadership of PDP ward 5, in Oshimili South local government area, has called on members of the ward to avoid acts capable of giving the opposition an edge over the party in future elections.
The Chairman of the ward, Ogbueshi Chinedu Nwokolo, made the call today at the ward’s end of year 2023 meeting.
Ogbueshi Nwokolo said the ward had already reconciled the differences that arise from the last general election, with members agreeing to work together, stressing that any attempt by any member to cause disaffection and ill will in the ward would not be tolerated.
He maintained that Hon Taju Isichei had proved himself a selfless leader of the ward, adding that the ward had witnessed some positive changes under his watch.
Addressing the meeting, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, Hon Taju Isichei, who is also the leader of the ward, thanked the members for their confidence in the ward executive and leadership.
Hon Isichei said loyalty to the party and its leaders at all levels was key to strengthening and uniting the party for greater electoral exploits, and urged members of the ward to come up with ideas that would woo more members to PDP ahead of next year’s local government election and the 2027 general election.
The ward leader, who announced cash gifts of N20,000 each to six elderly women with a promise of some packages for members at Christmas, pledged to remain transparent and carry every member of the ward along in the scheme of things.
