The Justice C. H. Ahuchaogu-led Court of Appeal panel sitting in Lagos has been commended for reflecting the will of God in its rulings on the petitions filed by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Kenneth Gbagi and Ken Pela, challenging the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 18 Governorship election in Delta state.
Chief Uzor, the Special Advisrer to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, while congratulating his Principal, noted that there was no way the petitions would have succeeded given the glaring defeat of Omo-Agege and the other opponents in the election
The Onwa of Oko kingdom and former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the party had deepened democracy in the state through the enviable track records of the past and present administrations, and Deltans were happy with the historic rulings.
He expressed delight that the petitions could not fly for lacking in merit, saying that the judiciary had once again given Deltans every reason to uphold their confidence in the legal system.
Chief Uzor called on Omo-Agege and other opposition leaders in the state to respect the will of God and the people of the state by sheathing their swords and resolving to work with Governor Oborevwori for the overall good of the state.
The Special Advisrer remarked that the litigations were unnecessary distractions and waste of resources, advising Omo-Agege, Gbagi and Pela to allow the sleeping dog lie and wait for their own appointed time.
