The Chief Press Secretary to Delta State Governor, Sir Fetus Ahon, has said the Court of Appeal judgement, which validated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory in the March 18 gubernatorial election in the state is a confirmation that the judiciary still remains the hope of the common man.
Speaking with newsmen on Friday night, Ahon described the judgement which, coincided with his birth anniversary, as a perfect birthday gift from God.
He said the Appeal Court victory, and indeed all the Court victories that had been recorded by the Governor, attested to the fact that he was carefully chosen by God to Govern and take Delta state to the next level.
The CPS stated that the Court of Appeal’s affirmation of the mandate freely given to the Governor at the polls was a victory for all Deltans and all lovers of democracy, and not just a victory for the PDP family alone, just as he added that it showed and confirmed that the judiciary still remained the last hope of the common man.
Ahon described the Governor as a man of the people, who had already started fulfilling his campaign promises as a Governor for all Deltans, pointing out that he was determined to build on the achievements of his predecessor to move the state forward.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a man with a large heart and compassion. l call on all those of opposition parties to give him their unflinching support in his quest to make the state a model for others to follow.
“For me, this Appeal Court victory that came on the same day of my birth anniversary is not only a birthday gift, but a perfect gift from God”, the CPS concluded.
