Mothers, especially widows, have been charged to jealously protect their children from the evil ones who may want to diabolically destroy them.
The Founder and General Overseer of the Divine Faith Evangelical Ministries International, Agbor, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, who gave the charge at Umunede on Thursday during a widows’ outreach programme, said the children of spiritually weak parents were often the target of the devil who would want to ruin their lives and make them useless to their families.
This, he maintained, must not be allowed to happen because children constituted a major source of joy and blessings to their parents and families, stressing that widows had a greater responsibility to protect their children, as they needed them to remain strong, hopeful and happy in the face of the challenges of widowhood.
Prophet Igbodo, who is also the proprietor of Jobs Orphanage and Saint Stephen’s Trust Widow’s Home, also in Agbor, encouraged the widows to carry themselves with dignity in order to command the respect of their husbands’ family members and the larger society.
He emphasized that they must not have anything to do with self acclaimed pastors and prophets who might want to hoodwink and exploit them with false prophesies, stressing that in every circumstance they should only take refuge in Jesus, the son of God.
The Man of God, who distributed food items to over 300 widows during the programme, assured them that God would continue to provide for them, the prevailing hard times notwithstanding, even as he revealed that the items were donated by individuals and organisations led by the spirit.
Prophet Igbodo prayed for and anointed the widows with oil, urging them to draw closer to God, abstain from sinful acts and always pray for their children, relatives, the Umunede community and all in need of intercession, promising to revisit them in two weeks time.
