Rivers Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has tendered apology to the people of Rivers State over the political crises that has caused tension in the state.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, Fubara said he was willing to embrace peace and called on his political leader, Nyesom Wike, to also embrace peace.
Fubara thanked President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in the crisis.
Prior to the statement released by Fubara, Wike had justified the attempt to impeach his successor.
Addressing Journalists in Abuja, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State wondered where Fubara was when he was fighting.
Wike said “it is politics if I demand N20 billion monthly and I am allowed to award all the contracts to myself”.
The Minister vowed to remain politically relevant and maintain his structure, stating that impeachment was part of democracy and no one could stop him from doing whatever he chose to do.
