Delta State Government has reiterated its preparedness to embrace genuine investors who want to do business in the state.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, stated this at Government House Asaba while playing host to officials of a Chinese company, Mofets Global Link (Nig) Ltd, who paid him a courtesy visit.

Hon Erijo said the present administration was determined to make significant impact on different sectors of the state’s economy and needed progressive partnership with the private sector to be able to achieve that.

He explained that the M.O.R.E agenda of the Oborevwori administration was elaborate and encompassing enough for genuine investors to key into and thanked the Chinese firm for showing interest in power generation and road construction, which he noted were key to socioeconomic transformation of the state.

The Chief of Staff, while promising to connect the firm to the relevant authorities for detailed discussions on the investment proposals, assured the organisation that Delta remained the preferred destination for serious minded investors.

The Chairman, Mofets Global Link (Nig) Ltd, Mr Yu Haitao, who spoke through the Director, Nigeria Office of the company, Mr Adeniyi Olasunkanmi; said the firm was interested in investing in power generation and road construction in the state.

He disclosed that the company was proposing to establish an 800 megawatts power plan in the state and would provide 70 percent of the funds, while the state would take responsibility for 30 percent, which would include the provision of land and gas for the power plant.

He further stated that the company would operate and maintain the plant and urged the state government to consider the possibility of partnership with them.
