Pursuant to the request that the Oshimili South Local Government Chairmanship seat be zoned to Oko ward 1, in the sake of equity and fairness, two PDP loyalists in the ward have indicated interest to contest for the exalted seat.

The duo, Mr Anthony Enebeli and Barr Ike Cesar Odunze, made their intensions known at a meeting of the Forum of Concerned PDP Loyalists, which reiterated its position that the Oshimili South Council Chairmanship should be “fairly and squarely” zoned to Oko Ward 1, after its sister ward had produced the Council Chairmen for a record 3 conservative terms.

The Forum resolved to continue to appeal to Oshimili South leadership and other stakeholders of the party, including Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and  Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa to support the ward to take its shot in the next dispensation of the Council.

It noted that equity and fairness played out in PDP’s zoning of the governorship seat in the last election in the state with the emergence of the current Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori from Okpe (OSU) area, since Ughelli and Ethiope catchment in Delta Central had produced Governors in the past.

The Oko Ward 1 Concerned PDP Loyalists’ Forum congratulated Governor Oborevwori on the series of Tribunal and Court victories, and pledged total support and loyalty of the entire ward to his administration.
