PETER OKOLIE BAGS VOCATIONAL SERVICE AWARD OF ROTARY CLUB OF ISSELE-AZAGBA UPTOWN

A renowned investment analyst in the state, Hon Peter Isioma Okolie, has bagged a vocational service award of the Rotary Club of Issele-Azagba Uptown.  

Hon Okolie, who was the past President of the Rotary Club of Asaba Government House, 2012/2013 Rotary year, received the award at the weekend during the installation and award ceremony of the 3rd President of the Club, which took place at Nelrose Hotel, Asaba.

In his remarks on the occasion, the President of Rotary Club of Issele Azagba Uptown, Rtn Prince Philip Igwenwanne, said the awardee had distinguished himself in vocational service, especially in developing young leaders and introducing skill acquisition programs for senior secondary school students in Great-Favour Montessori School, Issele-Azagba.

Rtn Igwenwanne noted that Hon Okolie, who is currently the Executive Secretary of the Delta Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (DACCIMA), was passionate about entrepreneurship development among young leaders in order to  make them self reliant in this era of rising unemployment in the country.

He said Rotary was all about service to humanity, stressing that the former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Forum in Delta state had remained a dedicated Rotarian, having attained the status of a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

In his acceptance speech after receiving the award from Rtn PAG Jonathan Olisedeme, Hon Okolie thanked Rotary Club of Issele-Azagba Uptown for taking cognizance of his modest contributions to vocational service and promised to remain committed to shaping the future of young leaders in his locality.

The awardee said Rotary Club had positioned him to render selfless service to the society and urged men and women with the passion for service to humanity to join the Club.
