The Chairman, Oshimili South LGA chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his victory over Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Chief Kenneth Gbagi and Ken Pela at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Asaba.
Ogbueshi Okonji, in a message made available to newsmen after the rulings, said the historic victories did not come to him as a surprise given the obvious finger of God in the Governor’s journey of life.
The LGA PDP Chairman said the Petitioners should have taken cognisance of the general acceptance and massive support of Deltans for Sheriff Oborevwori before embarking on their ill-fated Court processes, insisting that it would have been more honourable for them to concede defeat after the election and embrace the Governor to move the state forward.
He thanked the Justice Amuchaogu-led Tribunal for dismissing the petitions for lacking in merit, as there were no justifications to challenge the election of Governor Oborevwori in the first place.
Ogbueshi Okonji appealed to detractors to allow the Governor to focus on the implementation of his MORE agenda targeted at making life more meaningful to the people, and called on the Petitioners to retrace their steps and seek ways of contributing to the growth and development of the state.
