Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has nominated Chairmen and members for the reconstitution of the Governing Boards of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency and Warri-Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency.
The nominations are contained in two separate letters to the Delta State House of Assembly, and read at Wednesday’s plenary by the Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor.
The pioneer Speakers of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, was nominated as Chairman, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, and the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, as Director General.
Nominees for membership of the Board are Chukwuedo Chekube Hope, Engr. Ogaga Akpomedaye and Mrs Endurance Ibru, while the Ministry of Economic Planning is to be represented.
Rt Hon Oborevrwori explained that the development was in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 4, sub section 2(a) of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency Law, 2015.
Similarly, the Governor nominated a former Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Joseph Otumara, as Chairman Governing Board of the Warri-Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency, with
Prince Godwin Ejinyere as Director -General nominee of the Agency.
Mr Isaac Itobi, Agbosa Onoriode Stanley and Mrs Eunice Oshionwu are to serve as members of the Board, with a representative of the Ministry of Economic Planning.
The Governor solicited early consideration and confirmation of the nominees to enable him effect the appointments in accordance with the law.
Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor consequently directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of the Curriculum Vitae (C.V) to the Office of the Clerk of the House on or before Monday, September 11, and appear for screening on Tuesday, September 12.
