Staff of the headquarters and Abuja division of the Court of Appeal have been asked to stay at home on Wednesday which has been fixed for judgment in the petitions challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election.
The Chief Registrar of the Court, Umar Bangari, had announced the decision of the presidential election petition tribunal to deliver judgment on September 6.
He said in a bid to promote transparency and openness, the judgments would be broadcast live by interested Television Stations for the public to follow, while access to the Court premises would be strictly on accreditation.
“Only accredited individuals, including Counsels and representatives of political parties, will be granted access to the courtroom.
“Interested members of the public are advised to watch proceedings from their television set”, the Registrar said.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) are challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 Presidential election.
