Police zone 5, Benin City, Edo State, has confirmed the murder of one Success Regha by his boyfriend, one Victor Ochonogor.
In a statement made available to newsmen, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, said about 1600hrs on August 21, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of LoveWorld Division, Benin City, received a complaint from one Emmanuel Momoh that his tenant, one Victor Ochonogor “M” locked his girlfriend, one Success Regha “F” in his one bedroom apartment.
He said suddenly, with a loud voice, a quarrel ensued between the two love birds and in the process Victor stabbed Success in the neck and chest with a knife and she died instantly.
The PPRO stated that on receiving the report, police operatives immediately swung into action, arrested the suspect, recovered the knife, and rushed the suspect who had knife injury on the neck to Stella Obasanjo hospital where he is currently on admission and the deceased body deposited at the hospital mortuary.
Items recovered from the suspect were two blood-stained knives, two iPhones, one Nokia phone, one laptop, and two ATM cards.
The case was later transferred to the Homicide section, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Benin.
Chidi said the suspect will soon be charged to Court for murder.
The deceased, the eldest of the three children of Mr Ochuko Regha of the Delta State Ministry of Economic Planning, was a final year Accounting student of the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.
She would have been nineteen years old on the 25th of October.
