
Alum Igbuzo and President, Ibusa Youth Council, IYC, Comrade Ifeanyi Asiodu, has commended the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government, Hon Innocent Esewezie, for his unrelenting efforts to ensure peace in the LGA through the constitution of the central and localized Land Surveillance Committees.

Comrade Asiodu gave the commendation when he joined the Council Chairman on a visit to the Obuzor of Igbuzor, Obi (Prof) Louis Nwaobishi, to pay him homage ahead of the community’s Ifejoku festival.

The IYC President, who donated a Sienna Bus each to the Ibusa police station and the Land Surveillance Committee, said he was impressed with the youthful leadership qualities of Hon Esewezie, pointing out that his avowed determination to confront the menacing challenge of land grabbing in Ibusa should not go unsupported.

He expressed the hope that the vehicles would help the Police and the Land Surveillance Committee to discharge their duties effectively and urged residents of Ibusa to cooperate with them for the greater peace of the land.
Alum Igbuzo thanked the Obuzor for his role in the resolution of the dispute between the Uwolo and Obuzor-in-Council and pleaded for more interventions in the dispute with Umuodafe to ensure lasting peace.

In his remarks, the Oshimili North Council Chairman, Hon Innocent Esewezie, thanked the youths of Ibusa for coming out in their large numbers to pay the Obuzor homage and particularly commended the IYC President for generously supporting the activities of the Council.
Hon Esewezie reiterated his administration’s resolve to fight land grabbing and indiscriminate sales of ancestral lands in Ibusa and advised those who had been indulging in land deals to desist in their own interest or be prepared to face the wrath of the law.

Responding, Obi (Prof) Louis Nwaobishi thanked the Council Chairman for leading Ibusa youths on the visit and for the gifts presented to him for the Ifejoku festival.
The Obuzor advised the youths to remain united and come up with ideas that would promote greater peace and development in the community.
