AKPILE ELECTION: Okorodudu Responds To Claim Of Invalidity

A former Commissioner in the state and immediate past Chief of Staff to Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori when he was Speaker of the State Assembly, Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has debunked claims that the election for the ‘Akpile’ Chieftaincy title of Olomo kingdom was a sham.

In a telephone interview with this medium, Dr Okorodudu, who reportedly won the election, said it held as scheduled and was peaceful.

He said a contestant, Olorogun John Oguma, the Udu of Olomo kingdom, was invited but did not show up, insisting that his absence did not invalidate the election.

The former Commissioner explained that some elections had been contested and won in the country without the physical presence of the candidates, stressing that what mattered was the popularity of the candidates cincerned.
