Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has felicitated the Iyase of Asaba, Obi (Chief) Patrick Isioma Goodluck (PIG) Onyeobi, on his 90th birth anniversary on August 7.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori described Onyeobi, a former Secretary to the defunct Bendel State Government and Head of Service, as a model administrator and community leader with impeccable leadership qualities.

He praised the nonagenarian for his staunch adherence to the customs and traditions of Asaba Kingdom and for his long-term contributions to the growth of the capital city.

According to Oborevwori, Onyeobi’s unwavering dedication to helping others and extraordinary life achievements, which distinguished him as a wonderful mentor and role model, would continue to motivate the younger generation.

He said: “Chief Onyeobi’s enduring imprints on the sands of time are powerful symbols of Asaba’s traditional institution.

“We honour you on this occasion of your 90th birthday for everything you have accomplished, from your modest beginnings to the pinnacle of your brilliant career as Head of Service and Secretary to the defunct Bendel State Government.

“We honour your immense contributions to changing the cause of our beloved state and country. You have continued to apply your leadership skills throughout Asaba and beyond.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta, I heartily rejoice with an elder statesman and administrator par excellence, a perfect gentleman and community leader of immense repute, Chief Patrick Onyeobi, the Iyase of Asaba on his 90th birth anniversary.
