All is now set for tomorrow’s commissioning of the reconstructed traditional meeting place of the Asaba community, Ogwa Ukwu, by the State Governor, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

A visit today by an indigene of the community and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Engr Smart Meka, revealed that the exteriors of the magnificent structure were receiving finishing touches, while the drains in front were being cleared of debris.

Speaking in an interview at the end of the visit, Engr Meka commended the Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government, Dr Kelvin Ezenyili, for giving the facility a facelift to make it conducive to the users, especially the Otu Ihaza.

He said the Ogwa Ukwu had turned to an eyesore and had become indecorous to the ancient Asaba community before the intervention of the Council Chairman, whom he described as a new generation politician with a lot to offer.

Engr Meka, who noted that Dr Ezenyili had upgraded the Executive and Legislative complexes in the Council secretariat to enviable standards, stated that his vision had brought the Ogwa Ukwu to speed with the current level of development in the state capital, adding that his leadership style would facilitate the implementation of the M.O.R.E agenda of the Oborevwori administration.

The former Senior Special Assistant to the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, said he was proud of the achievements of the Oshimili South Council boss and urged him to sustain the momentum in order to effectively complement the efforts of the state government at developing Asaba, the state capital.
