An appeal has gone to Nigerians to persevere and remain resilient in the face of the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen George Akume, made the appeal on Monday when a delegation of the North Central Peoples’ Forum visited him in Abuja.

He assured Nigerians that the pains would not last  long, and there would be an improvement in the standard of living.

The SGF stated that President Bola Tinubu meant well for Nigerians and would not fail them, adding that the steps so far taken by the President showed that he was serious about repositioning the country and making it work.

“I urge Nigerians to bear the pains of subsidy removal and its negative impact on the cost of living. I want to assure you that after the pain there will be a significant improvement in living standards generally”, Akume said.
