ERIJO URGES ISOKO NATION TO REMAIN PEACEFUL, SUPPORTIVE OF DELTA STATE GOVT

The people of Isoko nation of Delta state have been urged to remain peaceful and be supportive of the present administration in the state.

The Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon Johnson Erijo, made the call in Asaba on Wednesday, while playing host to members of an Isoko indigenous political pressure group, Delta Renaissance Network (DRN), who paid him a courtesy visit.

Hon Erijo said the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori was genuinely committed to consolidating the giant developmental strides of the immediate past Okowa administration, but needed the prevailing peace in the state to be sustained for that to be achieved.

The Chief of Staff thanked Deltans for the confidence reposed in Oborevwori, through the instrumentality of the ballot in the March 18 election, and called on them to always remember the Governor, his Deputy and other government functionaries in their prayers for the overall good of the state.

He told the visiting DRN members that his appointment, which he said was an act of God, was a mark of appreciation to the entire Isoko nation and they must, individually and as a group, contribute to the success of the present administration.

Hon Erijo promised to serve with humility, equity and fairness to all, and assured the group that he would remain a good ambassador of Isoko land.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Delta Renaissance Network, Odio Amos Okoro, thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for appointing one of their own as his Chief of Staff and formally congratulated Hon Erijo on the well deserved appointment.

Okoro assured the Governor of the support of the group for his administration and wished Hon Erijo well in his new assignment.

The Secretary General of the group, Dr Michael Erigi; the Treasurer, Sylvia Anyisire; Head of Media, Prince Enahoro Erijoh; were among the dignitaries present.
