The successful screening and confirmation of Chief Festus Ochonogor for appointment as the Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, by the State House of Assembly has been described as a big win for the Ndokwa nation.

The Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency House of Representatives member-elect, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, who stated this while reacting to the development, thanked the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and the incoming Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for rekindling the hope of his constituents.

Ezechi maintained that the designation had vindicated the state government from the perceived marginalization of Ndokwa land, adding that Governor Okowa had on several occasions been genuinely passionate about giving Ndokwa people a sense of belonging.

He assured Governor Okowa and the incoming Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, that the choice of the MD designate was in the best interest of oil producing areas of the state and the state at large considering his cognate experience in public service and track record of performance in previous duties assigned to him.

The Member-elect of the House of Representatives congratulated Chief Ochonogor, Chief Charles Olisa, Surv Azuka Enebeli and the other nominees of the DESOPADEC Board on their well deserved recognition and urged them to be prepared to justify the confidence reposed in them when inaugurated.

Ezechi pledged the continued support of the Ndokwa nation for Governor Okowa and the incoming Governor, and called on his people to extend the love and support they demonstrated for Okowa to Sheriff Oborevwori in the overall interest of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency.

Meanwhile, Hon Ezechi has congratulated the President General of the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), General Mike Ndubuisi (Rtd) on his successful inauguration as the Board Chairman, Delta Special Economic Zone – Management Company (DSEZ-MC), describing him as eminently fitted for the job.

He also congratulated the Managing Director/CEO, Pastor Godwin Akpovie; and members, Mr Godwin Ebosa, Mrs Ebele Irabor and Dr Peter Ese Oriavwote on the appointment.
